Understanding Infertility
Genetic Screening
Genetic screening (also called genetic testing) is also available to infertile couples. This test examines the DNA in the blood and can reveal gene changes or issues that may be causing problems.
This procedure is recommended before trying to get pregnant as some conditions can lie hidden with no symptoms. It is especially recommended for infertile male patients with low sperm count (oligozoospermia) or no sperm count (azoospermia). Couples with recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) are also encouraged to get it done.[1]
Ask your doctor if they think genetic screening will be useful in your case.
